That $89.99 is 75% of the original price because there is a 25% discount. So the original price was $89.99/.75 which is $119.98 None of the answers is right.

You could check it by taking any of the given answers and multiplying them by .75 to put in the 25% discount. For example if the original price was $150 the sale price would have been $112.50

Neither. The sale price has to be lower than the price tag. What you meant is the item is shown as $89.99 *after* taking a 25% discount.

119.986667 discounted 25% will give you $89.99.

well, the question is posed wrongly but i get the gist of what he wants.

The after discount price is $89.99. What is the original price?
So if 75% = 89.99
then 100% = 89.99/75% X 100% = 119.99

None of those are correct if you are looking for the sales price and $89.99 is the original price. The sale price is 67.49.

The sale price is $89.99.

Either that or your asking the wrong question.

Do you want to know what the original price was?

a chit is the quantity that's decreased from the unique value ($18.30). That decrease value is 25% (comparable as 0.25) of the marked value. the decrease value = 0.25 × $18.30 = $4.575 This ought to be rounded to the closest penny via fact we don't have a coin equivalent $0.0.5. So the decrease value is $4.fifty six. The sales value = $18.30 - $4.fifty six = $13.seventy 4 ProfRay As maximum questions, this technique is on your textbook, yet you should study it!

89.99(1 - .25) = 89.99(.75) = $67.49

I think you may have something written down wrong.

well if you take the tag and do a discount of 25% its 67.49, if you add the 25% on its 112.48... your question doesnt make sense.
