Well he has a point. When you're working, you should be working, not visiting other people in their cubicles. If you value your job, you better stay at your desk and work.

It a hard call. Most bosses may feel you are fraternizing with the men. I am assuming from your Avatar you are Female and you said guys in the cubicles. I not sure of what I think here, but, there a thing in America called Women lib. Women want the same opportunities as men, and I do agree! I have worked FOR many women in Offices and Industrial work. You may be perceived as a shake booty to keep from working gal. Now, I not sure here, I never managed other than my own business, which by the way I hired Teenagers and well I just got a smile out of young love. The work still got done.

You have to be careful at work not to get caught up in office politics. There will always be a few disgruntled workers that will stir the others up and cause tension. I've found the best thing to do is to keep the chat very neutral, talk about clothes or hobbies or something but not about your co-workers or boss.

What? "Who is right and who is wrong?"

If you worked hard and created a company and gave a young woman money from your business for every day that she came to work for you, what would you want her to be doing? Socializing? Or working so the business would do well and people would keep buying from it and it would stay a success? Would you just want to give her money for every hour she was there, even if she didn't help the business?

Figuring that out is not rocket science!

Use common sense and follow office rules. Are you sure that the boss might not have feelings towards you?

The trick is....do your JOB. You can socialize with whomever you chose when it's breaktime or lunch time (whenever you're 'off the company clock' so to speak. But when you're on the clock...your boss has the right to tell you not to be hanging around other ppl's cubicles unless it's 'business'.

IMO, do what the boss says...hes is charge and can fire you.

however, you could get everyone as well as you to quit and all get a new job at another office if possible.

I would look for a new job

since you just started this job and you seem to like it; i would stay clear of everyone, just sit back and watch the story unfold you may get a laugh or two. i mean be polite and all to all your co-worker and respect your boss let him know or she that your there to work and get the job done.don't get caught up in that drama be profession trust me you'll get a lot further that way.

He is right. Personal conversations should take place during breaks and lunches. Since he is your boss, he has the most impact on what direction you will take with this new job. (For example, he completes your evaluations, raises, and recommendations for promotions.)
