Ive been told that you cant always go by cereal number or the tags so I was wondering if there is a deffinate way to tell. Ive seen some very convencing knock offs.

Bring the bag to a Louis Vuitton boutique, or visit mypoupette.com. You can ship your bag to them and they will check it out for you. Or if that isn't convient enough for you, you can simply send them a few pictures.

All Louis vuittons have there labels inside and its made of leather, also the fabric that is stamped is a very distick brand logo...They is the safest way to check. I know its hard but if u or a friend have one take it along when shopping for them, also all Louis have a felt type bag given with your bag or wallet...not just a certificate!!!

Buy it at a Louis Vuitton store, or from a department store. Otherwise, you run the risk. Louis Vuittons are all made out of canvas, not leather. You can often just touch it and feel the difference.

You can go to mypoupette.com and they will authenticate it for you. You could also go to the store and ask them. But, the one test I usually use is the "smell". A real bag has a very unique, true-leather smell. Take a big whiff of your bag and if you smell anything plastic or not "pure", you'll know right away it's a fake. You can also go to www.louisvuitton.com and look at the online catelog to compare your bag to the real ones with the images.

Compare the zippers, the fake ones have a bigger LV logo on the zipper. Check the seams to see the print matches.
