My son is 4 1/2 months. He started smiling spontaneously (and in response to my smiles) at about 2 1/2 months. He started laughing sometime around 3 months, but he does it consistantly now. Nothing is more joyful than the first laugh. Look forward to it and cherish it!

depend on the baby . some start at 1 months , some 2 or 3 weeks to smile to laugh out loud baby are about 6wks. to 2months . Some baby are even 3 months. about 2weeks or 3 weeks they start to coo and smile when they see their mom and their mom talks to them. Your voice they already are use to , from being in your tummy.

Babies can begin to smile at about 6 weeks old. They start giggling at about 4 months old. It is so funny when they start to giggle. If you have a video recorder, get it recorded. It is the funniest sound you will ever hear.

all babies are different.. but rule of thumb is from 6 weeks to 3 months.. anything before 6 weeks is gas.. anything over 3 months ya might want to mention to doctor.

My daughter smiled on the 3D/4D ultrasound at 30 weeks pregnant (hey, so what if it was gas... a gas smile is still a smile... hehe)...
