It's a beautiful culture. My dad is Jamaican and they have alot to be proud of. Maybe their just fascinated. When i was in HS people were obsessed with Haitians because of the Fugees, and remember HOuse of Pain. I swear, all my white friends claimed to be Irish,.

I think people like nationalities that are different. My husband is Haitian and when we went down south for a wedding, all my sorority sisters wanted to hear him speak French and Kreyol. I know Jamaicans, and I find their accent to be melodic. I can't see being obsessed, but maybe some people are.
