It relates to the volume of a cube. If it had sides of 5 (H, W and L), then the volume would be 5 x 5 x 5 = 5^3 = "five cubed". For a similar reason, something to the second power is called "squared". The area of a square with side 5 would be 5 x 5 = 5^2 = "five squared".
Good thing we don't have to say 5^4 = "five tesseracted"

5^3 is read as 5 cubed,
since it represents the volume of a cube of length 5.
Just like 4^2 is read as 4 squared, denoting an amount equal to the area of a square of side 4 units.

If a cube is 5 inches on a side, then the volume of the cube is "5 cubed" inches, usually read as "125 cubic inches".
Similarly, if a square is 5 inches on a side, the AREA is "5 squared" inches, usually read as "5 square inches."
Don't try to extend this to other dimensions, though. Even your math teacher will start to give you funny looks. Being a geek is one thing, but don't push it too far.

The area of a square with sides of length x is
x * x or x^2 which is read as x squared.
The volume of a cube with sides of length x is
x * x * x = x^3 which is read as x cubed.
so 5^3 gives the volume of a cube with sides of length 5.
This is why they read them this way.

because anything thats to the power of three is read cubed because its like a cube in that it has three dimenions so it is called cubed and squared is called squared because like a square it only has 2 dimensions

Im going to have to go with almost all new music, most are from the new Chamillionaire CD 1. Hip Hop Police: Chamillionaire/Slick Rick. I love slick rick and when i heard him come on this track i went crazy. He made the song that much better. 2.Pimp Mode: Chamillionaire/Bun B. I used to love all the No Limit songs that had Bun B and Pimp C on them. I like Bun B better than Pimp C but it wouldnt be UGK without one or the other. 3.Rock Star: Chamillionaire/Lil Wayne. I dont even like the way lil wayne raps on his own cd's but when hes on someone elses track he is great. 4.Hollywood Divorce: Outkast/Lil Wayne/Snoop Dogg, again I dont really like Snoop but him and lil wayne were great on this song. 5.One of my favorite songs of all time is Flipmode Squad meets Def Squad: Busta Rhymes/Keith Murrey/Red Man/Lord Have Mercy/Marly G/Rampage............ I think thats all Its hard to put anything in any order of favorite or the best, so those are 5 that i could think of in no special order.
