I would hold a fossil in front of them and say "Fossil." If they didn't believe it was a fossil, I would walk away because they were obviously reason-impaired.

It's normally not a topic that you can convince someone of. If they don't believe it, nothing you can say will change their minds. If science isn't enough to convice them, it can't be done.
