Yes. Anything that can be done privately and with consent should be allowed whether money is being exchanged or not.
Adults can engage in consenting sexual acts legally, for favors or dinner or any other gift, but it suddenly becomes illegal if there are contractual terms and money is involved? That's nonsensical.
Prostitution should be legalized, and licensed, and taxed, just like any other personal service. Its safer for everyone involved, and dramatically reduces both the violence and the health risks involved with it being illegal.
I'm ignoring your comments about rapists are irrelevant.

Rapists and child molesters have a completely different mentality; it is less about sex than it is of the actual act of attacking someone and taking control. As far as legalizing prostitution goes, I really don't know how I feel. I'm definitely for people living the way they choose, and I know that in some places it is allowed already, but I have a hard time backing the sale of a woman's body -even if it is at will.

I agree prostitution s/b legalized, but not for your reasons of rapists and child molesters, because I don't think legalization would reduce either crime significantly. I simply cannot accept that an act which is perfectly legal if done for any number of motivations, some good and some bad, can all of a sudden be illegal simply because someone is being paid for it.
For example, a young lady can have sex with her boyfriend and no one thinks a thing of it; it is legal. A college cheerleader could screw the entire football team just to be popular, and that would be legal. (I'm not saying 'right' or 'moral', just legal.) But if that same girl were to try to help pay her way through school by having sex for money, that would be illegal. That just makes absolutely no sense to me.

Actually it has nothing to do with rapists and child molesters, its just common sense. Of course it should be legal and taxed. This way, much like any business, anyone without a "tax license" and "current medical proof" could be fined.

I agree.
Organizing it and maintaining it may be the problem.
If it were legalized, it would add revenue to the coffers of government.
If done correctly, probably diseases would be under more control or may decrease over time.
Nobody has offered a sound business plan for making it legal.
I guess it's a question of ethics, and yet, government does take in revenue from other questionable business like gambling, cigarettes and alcohol.

about rapists and molesters....well theres a lot to think about when u know that a rapist or a molester do not need to be found in the streets sometimes they are the parents itself who molest or rape a child..but to them i would cut their genitals slowly and smoothly...and then i would make them eat them a la catre

Yes prohibition is just as useless on prostitution as it is on drugs. Neither have done anything to reduce the so called problem. If legal, the practice could be regulated, be safer, and therefore abate the spread of disease.

Prostitution has existed as long as one can think and it will continue to exist. Declaring it illegal from a religious and moral high ground increases the risk of spreading diseases, links to other criminal activities. Bottom line: legalising and regulating prostitution would make it safer for everybody involved and increase the tax revenue of the government.

It won't make no difference, the child molesters are sick people, they can get sexual services on the street, but they don't do it, they need to be in jail.

Its not even that. Since its a voluntary transaction between a willing buyer and a willing seller there's no reason for it to be illegal in the first place. Obviously there would need to be some regulations put in place.
