Shoot for your dreams because even if you miss you'll be in a better place than that in which you started.

I usually have head that quote a little differently, something more like shoot of the stars and you might hit the moon.

It means that if you make an unachievable goal, and try your best to get their, although you might not achieve you're goal, you'll still go a long way.
