Hi everyone...this is for the women who are or were on the pill. I haven't had my period since July 26. I have been on the pill for 8 years or so and tend to miss pills every month - bad I know! Last month was no different. I have taken several HPT's and one blood pregnancy test and all were negative. My question is: Is it possible, or probable, that missing some pills caused me to ovulate at a different time, thus making my possible pregnancy not as far along as I suspect, therefore giving me negatives on my tests (hope that made sense)? I have missed pills before and have never even been one day late for my period, much less miss one completly. I know that there is a first time for everything, I am just really confused as to what is going on with my body. I am 26 and engaged to be married, so this pregnancy wouldn't be unwelcomed. Please, serious responses only. Thanks.

Yes it is possible. Missing pills or suddenly stopping them can easily cause your period to be irregular. It has actually happened to me.

Its also possible to get pregnant while on the pill, especially if you miss any. This ALSO happened to me.

If you have already checked with your doctor then just keep them updated and they will figure it out.

Any time you miss pills - more than a day or two, you throw your bodies hormones off. Not good for it to do this constantly.

There is a chance that you can get pregnant even if a faithful pill taker. It's weird you've had several home tests as well as blood pregnancy tests and they've all come back negative tho.

However...if you are pregnant - Congrats!

You're gonna get irritated by us all telling you to go to your doc. but girlfriend, there is a strong possiblity you are, and if you are, and it is a welcomed pregnancy, you should not be taking the pill any longer and you need to find that out! As far as the HPT's goes, those are just urine tests. Blood tests are much more accurate and they give you those at the Dr. office. Good luck on the engagement and possible pregnancy! I'm 35 weeks pregnant now and I can't wait! You're gonna love it if you are sweetie! Except the last month. I'm in my last month and it's hard to sleep at night. You'll know soon enough!

If the blood test was negative then you probaly are not pregnant. When I stopped taking the pill for a brief time, it totally screwed my cycle up. I wouldn't have periods on my own and my GYN had to give me some meds that would induce it. They checked me and knew that I wasn't pregnant. Maybe something like that is going on.

I've been on the pill and have missed some days(who hasn't) and the only time I missed my period is when I was pregnant. I would goto your obgyn or regular doctor and have them do a pregnancy test on you. If you are congrats.
