Why or why not?

There was once a time when she had so much mass the solar system orbited her.

She's lost a lot of weight since then, so things are back to normal now.

But she's not a planet because she hasn't cleared her path of debris. She left a huge trail of cookie crumbs, so that disqualifies her until she cleans up the mess.

Some, including her apparently, still think the world revolves around her.

Hmmm.... let's see.

TO be a planet under the new definition you must

1) Orbit the sun (I suppose you could stretch it and say she does but really she is part of the Earth)

2) Be massive enough to be more or less ball shapped (so she's not presently, but perhaps she was in the past), but not so massive that nuclear reactions can occur in your core (as far as I know, while she is active in many causes, she does not take part in nuclear fusion).

3) Have cleared your orbit of other objects of similar size (there are many other people smaller and bigger than her so, sadly she must all eat or otherwise destroy us first)

She replaces Pluto as the 10th planet in our solar system.
Up until now she only had asteroid status.

No, because she is a star. Stars have their own solar systems.
