The rec cross is an organization that helps people by preventing, educating, and assisting in emergencies. They collect donations for the needy, even blood. They feed and clothe people in emergencies. Sometimes they help find temporary living quarters. They relay information to family members in emergencies (well I know for the military at least). They help educate people in the community by teaching classes on everything from first aid to how to react in emergencies. They go over health issues in some of the classes. I don't think there is anything they don't do in an emergency. It's just people helping people and you can help too by donating your time, funds, food, blood, or needed items. They help all over the world.
