Superman looks like an ordinary guy - think of his
secret identity. But his super powers - including
his super strength - come not from muscles but
from his living in the glow of our yellow sun.

He dont need muscles. his power comes from the SUN! IF u noticed in Superman Returns after he leaves the Kypton Island he flies into orbit where he soaks up some solar rays and regains his strength. The power is in his body. his cells. NOT just muscles.

Superman's muscles are located under his skin.
The human musculoskeletal system is the organ system that gives humans the ability to physically move, by using the muscles and skeletal system. It consists of the muscular system and the human skeleton. Bones are connected to each other at the joints by ligaments or cartilage and skeletal muscle is attached to bones, usually by tendons.
I am sure Kryptonian musculoskeletal systems are similar as they retain human appearances.

Superman's muscles are fundimentally differently from human's. His muscles adre simply more powerful then a human's of equal size. This means he is much, much stronger than a human without being any larger or more developed.

the power of fiction!

I think you are confused. When people say Superman is strong they are referring to his penis.
