If your resume shows several jobs in a row with one year or two at each job (without explanation such as layoff due to downsizing, company went out of business, e.g.), then you would be considered a job hopper.

I've had resumes come across my desk where somebody had only been at their current job for a month and they were already on the market. That's a severe job hopper. Always looking for the next best thing...

A job hopper is someone who moves from job to job, like island hoppers hop from island to island. Such people are often considered instable by employers. The faster and the more you change jobs, the less attractive you become to the next employer, out of fear you won't stay on long either. Nobody likes to invest in someone who won't stay on long anyway.

A person who switches jobs more frequently than others due to better compensation, benefits, etc instead of trying to stay at your current place of improvement and trying to gain achievement there. I have heard many say that this is the new "in". There are a few sites which describe the pros and cons of job hopping.
