Hi. Check for a "divide by zero".

Nope, not all operations are correct. You divide by (x-x), which equals zero. And division by zero is undefined.

Which leads to another question: why isn't division by zero defined, anyways? Well, let's see....

Lets say 5 / 0 = n. (then multiply both sides by zero)

5 = n * 0 (hmm...this looks fishy)

So if division by zero is defined, then the result times zero would have to equal some real number, like "5". And that's a contradiction. So division by zero can't be defined. Sorry.

And in fact, the following statement is true...

"If division by zero was defined, then any number is equal to every other number." That means that numbers would be meaningless. And, even if you're OK with numbers being meaningless, then I'll trade you $1, for $10, since they mean the same thing...

Problems with your capslock key?

You divided both sides by (x-x) = 0
division by 0 is undefined. whenever you divide by an expression you must add on that the following steps are true only when that expression is not 0. in this case you must say it is true only when x-x is not 0 but this is always zero so the following statements are never true.

What Cirric means is that you can't divide by (x-x) because it equals zero, it makes all the numbers afterward nonexistent.

In other words, no not all the operations are correct because you can't divide by zero. Besides, (x^2-x^2) isn't x(x-x) anyway.

I think it goes like this.

x^2-x^2 = x^2-x^2

x-2xx+x = x-2xx+x

then cancel out by sending everything to one side with the opposite sign.
you should get 0=0 which makes x^2-x^2 = x^2-x^2 true

let me know if it helps.

((X*2)-(X*2))=((X*2)-(X*2))

Its all in the order of operations
