1000 = 2 x 500
500 = 2 x 250
250 = 2 x 125
125 = 5 x 25
25 = 5 x 5
5 = 5 x 1

Thus 2000 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 x 5 x 5

Greatest prime factor: 5
Least prime factor: 2

Difference = 3
