A. Is it the correct key?
B. Are you sure it is your car,and not one that looks like it?
If the answer to A and B are Yes, then take and pull hard on the steering wheel. See which way the wheel will move a little, and pull the wheel in that direction when turning the key!

a new ignition switch is needed more than likely. i had this same problem. it started with a little difficulty with the key turning such as wiggling or removing the key that proggressively got worse. the part is actually called a tumbler. just go to your parts store and tell them the problem. if you have no experience at mechanics i suggest taking it to the shop

key and tumbler replacement are in order. If you don't know how take it to a mechanic. guess you have to have them come and get it, this procedure should cost less than $100 on most cars. Or if you are in the kansas area I can hook youup with a man who does that stuff real cheap.

you've got something binding up the lock in the steering column if you jiggle the key whilst yanking the steering wheel side to side you will get it started

make sure the key you are using is in good condition. believe it or not, they can wear out. try a spare key if you have one.
