So where do you draw the line? Besides health care, is it Christ-less to not give everyone their own home, or give everyone a certain level of income, or give everyone a car, or give everyone a college education, etc.? The point is...Christ-fullness is not defined by how much (or little) "things (or services)" a person has. It is defined by the opportunity for inner growth provided to the person despite their mortal challenges.

Your premise is correct, but I don't have the answer.

The USA has, depending on the source, somewhere between the 26th and 35th best health care system in the world. And yet, as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product, spends 5 times more money per person for healthcare, than any developed nation. These facts are available from the National Institutes of Health, the CDC, the World Health Organization, and many other evaluating agencies.

The high cost of health care doesn't correlate to the quality of health care.

Standing outside, it appears as though the USA is subsidizing the Health Care Industry. No matter how the costs are paid, everyone pays these inflated prices, whether through the higher cost of producing goods and services by people who have some or all their health care costs covered by the employer, or through higher insurance costs, or through taxes.

I am guessing the Health Care Lobby really earns it's money, not only by influencing the Government, but also by influencing the conservative propaganda tools.

They care about one thing and one thing only....make money at the expense of the American tax-payer. Yes I said it. Christ based religious groups receive millions of dollars in tax breaks per year from the federal government. While the poor in this country die and starve because they cannot afford to get medical attention and food. All the while, the little Christian eats their steak and shrimp. It makes me want to vomit.

If they followed their own book they would see that it is harder for a rich man to get into heaven then it is for a poor man. Someone should call Pat Robertson right away and let him know that.

And no Leogirl the poor are not taken care of. They are left on the streets to starve and freeze to death. MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF THEM EVERY YEAR! But we as a country can "afford" to send billions of dollars per month to fight a war on the other side of the planet that was started on false premise.

So why don't you propose an alternative for us to debate? Do you want social healthcare so those of us that work hard have to pay for those that are lazy? Do you want free healthcare only for those that are poor, what constitutes poor, who should decide if someone is poor, without those of us that work hard paying for it you think the poor get more than substandard care? Should we force all employers regardless of there individual situation to provide most or all of the health care premiums for their employees so that only big business survives and 90% of business in america goes belly up? There is no answer to the health care problem in america. There are 3 choices.
1. Everyone get a job and use the brains and ability God gave you to get ahead and succeed and stop being lazy.
2. Those of us that work hard are treated unfairly and pay for everyone else to have healthcare through more taxes.
3. Everything remains as it is now and the poor and lazy keep complaining.

I vote for option #1

There's a thing in the US called MEDICAID if you don't know what it is call one of your local churches. Not only will they explain it to you; they have centers that will help you with the paper work.

Jane you're a little off topic at my question; however, if you want to e-mail me Jane I'll respond to your question. I'll also give you some charitable organizations that might help you such as Presby Care, or other hospital charitable foundation. Additionally, there are usually state funds for this kind of emergency situation. The best place to check is Catholic Charities. It doesn't matter if you're Catholic. They will help you find something that can help. Also there are state pool insurances. If you had NO job you would have qualified for Medicaid. Try here if you can afford something for insurance: http://www.charitablelife.com/

PS: You shouldn't call people "honey" you don't know. It reflects badly on you. Also in your question to me you said you qualified for "hardly nothing" so you got something? Also you couldn't afford insurance, but paid hospital bills out the wazoo? That's also a conflict. I'm paying for my daughter being in the hospital a year ago. To this day. I'm still paying. The bill was thousands. And I HAD insurance.

Well, conservatives are typically for smaller goverment and liberals are typically for larger government. So, mentioning Jesus in your speech... that's small government. Doing what Jesus says, that's big government.

... Anyone can walk into an emergency room and the hospital is required to administer life saving procedures regardless of ability to pay.

You're a wee bit of a drama queen there aren't you? The poor are taken care of, so you need to chill out. Where does it say in the bible to give everyone health care coverage. Show me that passage.

What should they care? They have the best & most complete
health care in the world, thanks to us, the taxpayers.

They're so hypocritical. I guess it's better to have your baby
die from the lack of health care or food, than to have an abortion.

Or, wait untill someone catches a contagious disease & can't
afford to be treated. It will be sad if that's what it will take
for them to see the light.
