yes they can, if you do not meet the requirements for a public defender, and you don't hire an attorney, court goes on anyway.

For example in GA and TN if you make bail, you will not be given a public defender, so if someone bails you out, and you can't afford an attorney you go ahead to trial.

That is a tricky one. If the judge relieved your public defender then yes, you can be sent into trial without an attorney and you will have to act as your own defense. You might be able to request another public defender, but those people really don't care anyway, you are better off hiring one or defending yourself.

If you are talking about the case of you bringing suit against the police in a civil case, then you will have to provide your own attorney. However, if the case is for your DUI and you are facing jail time, then you have the right to have a lawyer represent you for free if you meet the financial need requirement. There are income requirements in most states that you cannot exceed in order to have a public defender appointed to you for free.

It sounds as though you're talking about a civil trial over your being disabled. Civil attorneys are never provided free. If you mean a criminal trial, no, you cannot be forced to go to trial without an attorney. Check with the public defender office.

If you cannot afford an attorney, and you are facing jail time as part of a potential sentence, then an attorney must be provided to you.

If you are not facing jail time, then there is no requirement to provide a free attorney paid by the state.

You can represent yourself I guess. If you are bringing the cause then you need an attorney. But if you are being charged with something, which I am not sure I understand if you are or not, then the court must appoint an attorney for you if you cannot afford one. Good luck

Very exciting. So NPR basically admitted there became basically reason for firing the legal experts, because of the fact they weren't doing their jobs and investigating stuff that could have been investigated. And if the ACORN area of that's actual, good for them for removing the undesirable apples on the time. regrettably, there are lots of extra undesirable apples in different groves as we've found out at present.

Yes you can unless you try another public defender but that may not work cuz of what happened before or pay for one.

no, the state will provide you with a lawyer if you can't afford it. it's in the constitution that all people are entitled to a speedy, fair trial.

The judge cannot force you to represent yourself, and if he somehow does get away with it, you can then appeal for "inadequate representation"
