Sadly, most of the time in junior high and high school, things are all about popularity. No, it's not fair. But sometimes that's just the way things end up going. As long as you are happy with your artwork it shouldn't matter what the other kids thought of it.
And sometimes teachers do forget to do something that they said they were going to do. You just have to either be patient with it, and see if she addresses the class later on about it, and if she doesn't, you may want to try reminding her about it.
But you aren't worthless - keep your head up. I'm sure it was a great drawing =).

Hey you are not worthless you are a hard worker! It doesnt matter if the guys popular or not,I bet if it was taken into another class, devoid of who drew what you would get higher than him. Or even from the teachers. Dont let what others think get you down. You know you worked hard, you know the truth of who you are. Forget the crowds and what they think, you are just right for who you are, dont let them step on that. No one is any better or worse than you are. Remember that. We are all important, but this does not always show thru in 8th grade.Everyones so busy trying to be this group or that they forget to take time and think.

sounds like a real problem, if u are proud of ur work why let the ideals of other people let u feel worthless. and besides the peace sign is not a symbol of harmony it is a symbol of peace.i believe ur teacher chose it cause she doesn't know the difference, i don't like putting teacher down cause a good one can teach a lot,i think that u should take this as a lesson as to the way of life in our society, and don't let it bother u so much.

I would most definitely speak to the teacher after class about it. I'm not surprised that something like this could happen, but if you think an injustice has been done, please try to pursue this. As far as you feeling worthless, if this sort of thing has happened, trust me you are not the one who is worthless. Hold your head up, not many young people devote this much time to homework. You should be proud. In life, always stand up for what you believe, no matter what others may think. Good luck.

You're not worthless!!!!!
You are the one who will succeed in life. You care about your work, you are aware of social situations.
Life is so much more than 8th grade.
Just do well in school and make friends with people who are likeminded and likehearted.
Just keep a sense of humour about all the popular obnoxious stuff and don't let it get to you. It's not worth it, but you are.

Welcome to the real world. Unfortunately, so many times our ideas and work is passed over without anyone even considering it's value, simply because we are not the most popular person. It isn't you. Your teacher was wrong to let everyone know who submitted each piece of art. Instead, she should have left each submission anonymous
and then have the class vote. I'm sorry you
felt your work was worthless.
