He was great, won a superbowl, went to another, was MVP a couple times, set the consecutive starts streak .... but now, he's a mediocre old man who's finishing his career looking like a loser who didn't know when to walk away.

And last year, when he told that receiver who was in a contract dispute to play, and then the guy got seriously hurt, what a twit Brett was.

I think he still has a few more years in his arm, his poor performance is due to the team. The QB can't win the game all by himself. He still have the ability to play, but when he doesn't have help he tries to force plays and that leads to picks. And last year, was a horrendous injury prone season for the pack. When you lose 3 RBs and a starting WR for the season, there isn't anything you can do. Considering how young the packer O-line is, not even Peyton manning under center could look good behind that line.

Besides, Javon Walker, who blew out his knee last season got a big contract in Denver this year so he landed on his feet.

Well, Brett Favre might do better if he had a more veteran offensive line. Give the guy a break!! Besides, the Packers have only played one regular season game so far this season. Football season ain't over yet.

The next couple of years are going to be rebuilding years for the Pack and the win lost column isn't going to look pretty. Favre can still play but he can't do it alone Even though i'm from Wisconsin I still predict that Aaron Rodgers will start before seasons end...

I agree that it would have been better for Brett to retire a few years ago during his better days. However, I think he is still a good QB. He needs an O-line to protect him. He still has the ability to make plays. I hope he has a great final year.

Brett Favre was a great QB.Keyword here "was" but now he is just embarassing himself and I really feel bad for him. With all that said he still loves the game and its easier said than done for him to retire.

Brett should walk away from the game and enjoy the great success he has had with the Packers.

Brett Favre is still good, just put him behind a good offensive line.

Sad to see him go on like this. The fact his team is lousy
doesn't help. I hope he walks away before he gets seriously hurt.

He's past his prime, sure, but consider what he has given Green Bay, they owe him every last shot he wants to take.

And it's really a stretch to blame him for Walker's injury. Why wouldn't he want his best receiver to end his dispute and contribute to his team? He did EXACTLY what I would want my team leader to do.

He's been on a downward slide for years. Time to hang up the cleats
