I prefer to follow the wisdom of British scientist, Mary Douglas, who said - "Behind a leader there must be followers, but they should always be on the lookout for the main chance and ready to change sides if the current leader doesn't deliver." So I've been a leader as well as a follower and to be honest, they both suck rocks.

A good follower makes for a great leader. I also appreciate the value of walking side by side with someone or stopping to ask for directions. As for preference? How else am I to get a really good view of her butt?
