To take the money, yes. But why did she only get 3 hours sleep?? That is her fault, she should not have lied to you. But stealing is still wrong, you have sunk to her level. You should be the bigger person.

I think she should've had an earlier bedtime. But stealing is wrong, so you should've been the bigger person in this argument, and next time she gets 3 hours of sleep, she's not getting anything out of you. You now know your sister can lie to you so next time you will think twice before lending her something.
Also, you might want to talk to your sister, maybe you can work out some kind of compromise...
And you might want to talk to your sister there about getting at least 8 hours of sleep, instead of gulping down energy drinks and being unfair.

It is somewhat morally wrong, but lying to you like that is also stealing... I think that it is ok... until she finds out.
Tip, turn the other cheek, and never ever give her another favor, no matter how small, untill you get twice the worth of what she stole from you.
That sounds like a good idea without getting in trouble in any way!

First, check your capitals lock, then check your conscience. It is there to let you know what to do. It resides inside your head and keeps you out of a lot of trouble. I can guess what it is telling you now........to return the money and start offering a drink to your sleep deprived sister before she begs you. She will become your friend now and when you both have kids she will baby-sit for you and your wife to go out.

Have you ever heard that old saw: "Two wrongs don't make a right"? She broke her promise, you stole from her. You are NOT even!
Return the money immediately. Ask her again to honor her promise. If she refuses, take it to a higher authority (like a parent).
Good luck! (And next time, if you decide to give her a "next time", get it in writing!)

If that's the only way to collect and is the price of an energy drink, maybe it will teach your sister to pay up next time.

What I did to my cousin when something stupid like this happened between us is take the money (as long as you take the right amount) then leave a note (instead of telling it to her face).
Most of the time, when it's their fault, they will just let the note pass - but if you tell it to their face they might scream again and here we go again...

If she said she was going to pay you for the drink then I think it's ok that you took the money! Tell her to get her own the next time or pay you before you give it to her!

Well, that's stealing. Did you actually pay for the energy drink yourself or did your Mom buy it. If you actually paid for it, then you live and you learn. If your Mom paid for it, just ask her to buy more.
