There are lots of reasons for increased gas production. It could be a result of the food you are eating; food that contains sulfur, like cabbage or beans, is often the worst. Or it could be the particular intestinal flora that you have (i.e., you just have a strain of harmless bacteria in your intestine that is particularly stinky). Another reason you may be farting a lot is how quickly you eat. Eating fast causes a lot of trapped gas, that if not released as burps, becomes farts. So to sum up...eat less stinky foods, eat more slowly, and hope you don't have just naturally smelly farts.

As for your other symptoms, it sounds like you may be suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which is a relatively benign but bothersome affliction. Look it up on WebMD or any other medical website.

I don't know about all the bile duct stuff. It might be a good idea to land yourself in an emergency room sometime when it's really bad. Most hospitals will reduce your costs after they are billed, if you show that your income will not allow you to pay that much.

Aside from medical treatment, there are a couple things that can help with the gas. One thing is that when you eat lots of fiber, you should also eat yogurt to help reduce the gas. Maalox sells over the counter a very good antacid that also has SIMETHICONE. That will help the gas problem a lot, once it is in progress. Also, if you are constipated, you should be drinking lots more water. Everybody should drink 2 quarts every day, and you may need more than that. It will really help that digestion.

The extra fiber is probably causing all the gas. Frankly, you seem like you might have a problem that we non-experts should not try to solve.

Health insurance or not, you should see a doctor.

If you introduce too much fibre into your diet too quickly you may end up constipated, and it will give you wind.

See a doctor.
