If in the UK there is a product called "SILVER DIP" It is a jar of clear liquid into which you place your jewellery including silver. You leave for one hour, and when it comes out it is like new, Non abrasive and it cleans our all the crooks and nannies.

A silver polish like Wright's is really good and will not remove part of the silver in the cleaning process.

Put some aluminum foil in your sink (with drain closed) Add warm water and a half cup of table salt. Immerse the silver and watch the tarnish disappear.

if there are no opals in it or "glued" in stones get a jar of silver dip and dip it in. you should be able to get it in a large supermarket- it will come up a treat.
alternatively scrumple sonme aluminium foil in the bottom of a bowl - add a strong salt solution and dangle it in theremaking sure it touches the foil.
alternatively take it to a local jeweller- they will clean it for ya!

Not joking - toothpaste! Use a cloth to rub the jewellery with it. Toothpaste is made with gentle abrasives that won't damage teeth or precious metal.
I use it on the only trophy I've ever won and it works!

wash the item in wash soapy water ie. dishwashing liquid and dry it well with a paper towel with a splash of lemon juice or vinegar, otherwise take it into a jeweller, some clean for free.
