hey budy i used to do cross country
its all about endurance and conserving energy.
- when running, you try and keep your body moments as minimal as possible, dont flail your arms or leg about. medium length strides
- breathing, have a controlled breathing techinique, deep breaths in and out.
- have a training partner who can jog wth you, they can give you motivation, help push your limits.
- jog regulary. set distance goals with out stopping. start out with 2km, then, push up to 3km, 4km ect. also you can time yourself and try and break your time.
- hope that helps

The best method to being a good cross country runner is to out-train everyone else in the summer.
During the season, you can only go as high as your training takes you. It's not a sport about talent, it's a sport about who wants it more and is willing to put in the time and effort and miles in the summer heat to be the best in the fall.
I know that probably doesn't help you this year, but remember it for next.

I run cross country (that sounds weird) and the best technique is to get a coach :) and isn't spell check such a useful feature?

i love cross country! well run the shortest race possible (don't cut corners, but almost cut corners) and don't be afraid to shove back if someone pushes you. i mean, it's fun sometimes...don't get caught. also, don't get caught up in the sprint in the beginning. it really sucks if you go out too fast. and get into a rhythm with your breathing and steps. i tried breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth, but i can't do it very well..also watch the people in front of you, where they step, what they do wrong, so on. when you're running, you wanna be on grass more than mud. mud is fun, but it is slow. and if you have the heart, run with a guy that you wanna beat. if you have the heart, you'll stay with him. this is soooo hard, but it pays off so much!!!

Run a lot, breath easy, and get into a rthymic motion. To do really well it just takes practice, and mind focus. Don't think of anything but breathing easy and getting to the finish.

speed training and endurance training. gradually work up your distance until it really doesn't matter how far you run. Then work on your speed; a good workout might be to sprint a short distance, jog a short distance; sprint a farther distance, jog a farther distance; increase the steps about four or five times.

work hard, start off at a slow pace then gradually increase and keep yourself at an even speed. dont keep slowing down or speeding up because that can get you exhausted easily. i hope this helps. good luck.
