Highlander is the term given to those Scots which lived in the Scottish High Lands (mountains / Hills) of Scotland.
They were typically sheepherders and subsistance farmers
owing to the poor condition of the land they farmed.

highlanders wore kilts! kilts come from way back when the highlanders used to roam the "highlands" and they would sleep outside. well they would carry their bedding with them, and actually wear it wrapped around themselves, which in turn is where the kilt came from. oh yeah each kilt pattern represents a different clan.
