Because the environment that they have to grow in is different and the environment affects every life form and how it grows. Each environment has different properties to it that either support life or destroy it. For example: If you left bacteria to grow on a food item and then put it in a warm, humid area, then it would grow fairly well. But if you left it in a cold, dry area, then it wouldn't grow because most bacteria require heat and moisture to grow.

consider to the growth conditions:
1.Nutrients 2.Tempreature 3.Comptitent microorganism 4. CO2 and O2 concetration etc
if anywhere (eg. a room) has a different conditions of above factors the growth of the micro organisms (bacteria)will make different.
