I am writing a Persuasive Paper for my oral comm. class in college and my paper is on "Legalizing Marijuana" and i was wondering what you people thought about it. Do you all think marijuana should be legal or not? If you think it should be legal then give me a reason why you think that and if you know any books or websites i can get information from then let me know. Thanks guys!

Marijunana is not anymore addicting than ciggs or beer, in fact it is better and safer for you. It makes you calm and if you have noticed that it hasn't killed anyone like ciggs or beer and no one has murdered anyone while driving! But that is my opinion!

I say legalize it, regulate it and tax it. From the tax revenues alone you could make enough money to support a national healthcare system.

I'm tired of there being a double standard. Either leaglize marijuana or ban cigarettes (both hard to do). Cigarette companies make them as addictive as possible by infusing them with lethal poisons. Marijuana has also been proven to be less toxic to the lungs than a cigarette. And the whole thing about pot making you a pot head? Studies show that constant use of e-mail will lower your IQ further than marijuana. As part of your paper, you should outline a plan for the government to ease in the new laws and enforce regulations. This shows you consider the national outcome. Good luck with the project!

Haha I like the answer about using the tax off of it for a national healthcare system. LMAO so we allow people to smoke more, which causes health problems, so we can use that same money to support a healthcare system to help them when they get lung cancer? Seems like a big useless circle to me.

Yes. It would eradicate many drug cartels & dealers, allow the government control over it, and produce revenue, thereby stimulating the economy!

At least not as often as the many legal drugs.

being a former addict, i do not think that marijuana should be legalized. Everyone that smokes pot knows someone that knows someone that could get them something different. That is why I am against it.

I don't think that's a good idea. Marijuna isn't good for you or others. It'll most likely just ruin your life if you even try it.
