The way you look and the way you sound doesn't make you worth any more or less than anyone else. But it is other people's first impression of you. Look at yourself in the mirror. You don't have to change the way you look, it should just look like you make an effort everyday to look neat and clean. Listen to the way you talk. You might want to join a choir at school or church and let the teacher or choir leader know that you want to learn how to sing correctly and are willing to work with them and practice at home to get better. I am in sales and I took voice lessons (singing lessons) because the way I talk is very important to my job. Being able to contol your voice very well helps people understand what you think and feel. Now that you've spent all this time and effort working on the way you look and sound, go find friends who don't judge you on the way you look and sound. It sounds like it doesn't make sense, but give it a try. And remember that there are a lot of people out there who would like you no matter what. Take good care of yourself and good luck. :o)

Get involved in activities like sports or anything you are interested in outside of your school. Join a group of some sort that is based in a neighboring town. You can make friends there and as a result people in your school might like you better because you will not be so concerned about what they think. Also, look at how many fat and/or ugly people have a lot of friends. Don't be so judgemental- you may not mean to be, but others might see it.

You stated in your profile that you like soccer, giraffes, and the color orange, and that you love playing the piano.
Why not join the soccer team or join the school band? Alot of young people think bad is "stupid" and for "nerds" but the reality of it is just a bunch of kids getting together playing music and getting graded on it. Myself, I was in band class and not once got picked on for it because once people heard how good I could play they were very quick to be quiet.
Maybe join some type of club in your area, look in the yellow pages I'm sure there will be something there??
Good luck;
BTW, don't try to impress anyone, your an individual and isn't that 'how god made you'?

Okay ... go to a beauty collage ... get your hair changed a little ..have your eyebrows and nails done. Beauty collages are a great deal ... this will only set you back a few bucks. The whole idea is to feel good about your self. Start really concentrating on school work ... maybe even something extra curricular. Friends will just fall into place.

Ask your parents for some tips on making friends. The way to get people to like you, is to like them 1st. Have your parents help you check if you are doing anything offensive, ie, dirty clothes, stink armpits or breath, picking your nose or any other socially unaccepatable habits. Be clean and well-groomed. Brush your teeth. Smile and be nice to people. Work on 1 person at a time.

Ugly and fat are not reasons to be dissed, although it does happen - so just keep talking to people. Seek out others who don't appear to have much luck in the friends department, you'll find a kindred spirit. Good luck.

Is there a person in the cafeteria that sits alone? Doesn't really talk to anyone? Talk to that person. I used to be in your situation. Don't worry, you'll make friends. Hey, maybe go to the city or town pool...try making friends there? Or somewhere else? I hope you make some friends. Good luck

Join the girl scouts. Get involved with your church. Take music or dance lessons or drama classes. You will meet people in all of these place and the more people you know, the more friends you will have. Soon you will be in middle school and you can join clubs and activities. Just be patient and don't push it.
