Sure beats joining the army.
I saw a lot of parades when I was a kid. The soldiers would form two lines facing each other and throw their rifles back and forth, spinning, with fixed bayonets. They always dropped a rifle twice and then their boss man would stroll down between the two lines. They never dropped a rifle while he was in there. I was a kid and I fell for the act. It never occurred to me that dropping the rifles was done on purpose.

Great idea and here's why: you have to have a specific talents to participate in things like band. Anyone can be an effective part of a drill team. All it takes is practice. It is a great way to build pride and self-confidence as well.
