No one knows yet, but they are calling it suspicious only because a 20 year old guys don't normally just die in their sleep.

"Government officials in The Bahamas will release an autopsy report on Friday which will confirm what caused the sudden death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son Daniel.
Daniel was found sitting upright in a chair after going to see his mother and his new half-sister in the private Doctors Hospital in Nassau on Sunday.

Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill tells People magazine, "The cause of death is not natural.

"However, we wish to reserve the cause of death at this time pending the toxicologist examination and report for confirmation of cause of death."

Media reports in The Bahamas claim Daniel died of an apparent drug overdose and that various medications, along with drugs, were found in his system.

According to Virgill, a coroner's inquest with a jury will take place and Anna Nicole will likely be asked for her testimony.
Virgill adds, "All persons who are relevant witnesses, like his mother and hospital staff and airline personnel who had contact with him, would have to testify.

"The inquest would happen late in October or early November to determine how, when and by what manner Daniel came to his death."

The family has requested Daniel's body be returned to the United States, but the government in The Bahamas won't release him until the investigation is complete.

Medics Tried to Resuscitate Daniel Smith for 20 Minutes
Medics spent over 20 minutes trying to resuscitate Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel, after he fatally collapsed at her hospital bedside on Sunday.

Daniel had flown to the Bahamas on Saturday to join his mother three days after she gave birth to his half-sister, and he died after spending the night attending to them.

A hospital spokesperson says, "Resuscitative efforts using advanced life support protocol continued for 22 minutes without response."

The causes of Daniel's death remain unknown with the results of an official autopsy scheduled to be announced on Friday.

An autopsy was performed Monday. On Tuesday, Her Majesty's Coroner Linda P. Virgill said that based on preliminary findings, "the cause of death is not natural." But, she said, "we wish to reserve [announcing] the cause of death at this time," adding that a toxicology results and a full autopsy report will be released by the end of the week.


Virgill said an inquest will take place afterward and her staff will interview all "relevant witnesses," including Anna Nicole Smith, hospital workers and flight attendants, to develop an official timeline.


The coroner's statements came in the wake of a story in the Nassau Guardian that Daniel Smith suffered a "massive heart attack" and that antidepressants had been found in his system. The newspaper said that Daniel was seen "vomiting uncontrollably" shortly before his death.

particular, regrettably he kicked the bucket the day previous. I heard on television that they suspect it became from a heart attack & they do no longer have confidence any drugs or alcohol became in contact, so i'm advantageous it is nonetheless being checked into.... Anna had basically given start to a 6 lb. 9 oz.. woman offspring on the seventh!, & then this got here approximately. i've got confidence for her. Like many others have reported, no it is straightforward to could bury their newborn.
