All the scientific evidence has been pushed right under our noses? Why would you choose not to believe that?

There were extreme temperature shifts yes, but the polar bears were not drowning because they could not find ice for miles - things just seem to be happening TOO FAST... Are we destroying ourselves?

Many people think it's a myth because:
- They don't see it happening yet themselves (like it's happening over night like in the movies) or don't encounter the concequences yet themselves.
- They might start to feel guilty when they realise it's them that caused it with their (amongst others) SUV, so they hide behind unrational reasoning.
- They don't want to change their lifestyle.
- They're just ignorant.
-They don't believe anything, exept for that the liberals created global warming to scare them, Bush ordered the planes in the towers, the government and/or aliens are spraying our planet with unknown chemicals (chemtrails), etc.

I do believe Global Warming is not a myth but , us as human beings we are pretty ignorant if we think we can do anything about it , we can't even cure the common cold ! I't is a fact that mother earth is going through a natural cycle that it has always gone through there is SOLID scientific evidence that shows the earth has gone through ice ages and periods of severe heat and drought before any of us were around and it will eventually happen again of course probably not in any of our lifetimes but it will happen , we have to remember us as human beings are along for the ride Mother Earth is going to do what she wants like she has when no human beings were around and like she will with millions of us it wont make a difference .

Everyone has their own reasons for believing in what they want. Whether or not they agree with you and no matter how stupid their belief system is, the decision was up to them. Global warming? Who cares? What are you doing right now to help contribute to the fight against those who harm the environment? Are you at least driving a hybrid or electric car? Or a clean gas substitute car? People talk about it, try to increase awareness, but you know what...the belief if that even if something does happen, it won't be during our lifetime...or our kids lifetime...so why bother with it. Technology will come and save us. We'll make advances to counteract whatever we do right now.
Whether I want to choose to believe it or not doesn't make a difference. I'm not going to change my lifestyle, nor am I going to pick up where someone left off to continue the fight for a cleaner environment...it's not what you believe in that's important...its the actions and steps you decide to take that are.

And why are all you people associating everything with Bush? Hell he was voted in by the "People". Don't like it? Shut your bitching and vote next time. Bush > Kerry....you might not like it, but it's a simple FACT.

I would certainly never try to refute that. There is far too much evidence that a disturbing trend is taking place. The flow of the oceans is being disrupted by the change in salinity of the water from the melting ice caps. And to argue that this phenomenon is just a repeat of things that happened in the past is ridiculous. There is mounds of evidence that WE are causing this phenomenon.

First off I believe in global warming.

But I have heard convincing arguments from people who point to previous extreme temperatures and weather conditions from over a century ago - when there were far fewer pollutants.

Stating the the scientific evidence has been "pushed under our noses" makes it sound like you believe Mr. Bush on the topic. Hopefully I just read your question wrong~ :o) !

Bush and his band of junk scientists assigned to "debunk real scientifical data" gave him an excuse not to sign onto the Kyoto Treaty http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyoto_Protocol

Had he been responsible and caring when it comes to our environment, "big oil" would have been "big time mad"

They do not think.

They are making money and do not wish to spend anything to help the world.
It is called profit.

Their greed betrays them.

With their quest for more.

And their go to hell attitude to rest of mankind.

The idiots like Bush who don't believe in science. I think that it is fairly easy to see that Global Warming is a reality. Bush and his followers need to get up to the year 2006 not 1400.
