Multiply by two conversion factors, one for distance and one for time. You have to square the time conversion factor, because time is squared in this figure. Each conversion factor needs to be equal to unity, or 1. (1 mile / 1609 m) = 1, and (60 s / 1 min) = 1.

- Since 1 meter = 6.2137E-4 miles, then 9.18 meters = 5.7042E-3 miles.
- Since 1 sec = 1.6667E-2 minutes, then 1 sec^2 = 2.7778E-4 min^2.
- Then, 9.18 meters/sec^2 = 5.7042E-3 miles/2.7778E-4 min^2 = 20.535 miles/min^2.

I hope this helps.
