Screw what joane said btw. sre i dunn about ur percentage, but i would just pick up a simple vitamin book, theres milllions of really helpful ones out there

Do not take more than 5000 iu Vitamin A per day if you are pregnant or at risk of becoming pregnant. Doses of A in excess of 50,000 iu per day can cause toxicity if taken for several years: for Vitamin D, doses greater than 1000 iu per day are not recommended; vitamin K does not have an overdose listed,
Iron salts, especially ferrous sulfate, are a major cause of poisoning in children and infants; keep out of the reach of children. Do not exceed the dose of iron on the bottle of any product you are taking. Potassium is sufficiently toxic that supplements sold over the counter may not have more than 100 mg per tablet. Also, do not exceed the recommended daily doses of other minerals: Calcium, magnesium, selenium, chromium, and so on.

Vitamins are like everything else--good until someone abuses them. Here are a few of the most common vitamins with their recommended daily doses, point of overdose, and the results of taking too much.

Yes, it IS possible to overdose on vitamins AND to die of such an overdose. The main culprits are vitamin A, potassium, and iron supplements. While I was in Nursing School, I read about a case of some bear hunters who ate large portions of bear liver and died as a consequence of vitamin A poisoning. This is because any excess of vitamin A ingested isn't excreted by the human body, and large mammals such as bears store massive amounts of this vitamin in their livers. Because bears can weight upwards of 2,000 pounds, what is their minimal daily requirement of vitamin A is a deadly dose for an average human being. Excess potassium can also kill; potassium chloride is one of the compounds used to dispatch felons who are given the so-called lethal injection [first they are given sodium penthotal, a potent barbiturate, to make them sleep]. Then the "coup de grace" is by means of intravenous potassium chloride [KCl], which causes an almost instantaneous cardiac arrest when given in large doses. So, just to be safe, never exceed the RDA's of any vitamin or mineral supplement, unless under the orders and supervision of a medical doctor [this term doesn't include naturists; they are not physicians, even if some of them dare to put the suffix "MD" after their names].

Fat soluble vitamins (A,D,E,K) cannot be eliminated from your body so they are stored in your liver and can hurt yr liver.
Too much vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) can hurt your nervous system giving you nerve pain (neuropathy). Too much Vit C. will give you diarrhea, so stack up your toilet pape r before taking more than 1,000 mg/day!
The other vitamins are water soluble so they can be flushed out.
In any event take one tablet Centrum a day is enough. Do not throw your $$ away on excess vitamins!! By the way, today news said that Vit D can reduce pancreatic and Breast cancer!!! Voila!!!

This can be dangerous that is why they have on the side of the bottle to call poision control in case of accidental overdose. This is on there for a reason. If you take to much iron then this can be fatal. Don't worry though I have actually had to take my nephew to the ER b/c he thought he was eating candy , but had his vitamins and was snacking on them. Luckily we took him to the ER and the Dr said they did not contain Fe so they were not dangerous.

Yes, you can overdose on some vitamins. You have to look them up because I can't think of them off the top of my head.

You also have to worry about the minerals that are in your multi-vitamins. You can definitely overdose on Iron.

I think Vitamin C is safe because you pee out any extra. Check out the other vitamins/minerals that are in yours.

It is possible to overdose of vitamins. I would stick to a 100% unless you know that you are already low on some nutrient.

yeah its possible. in all reality you dont need vitamins, there are a couple vitamins that the elderly and vegetarians dont get enough of (and people with certain disorders but those are few and far between) but for the most part people get enough vitamins in their diet and extra stuff doesnt do anything for you
