the company that I work for is holding a benefit for my son right now to raise money for his medical care. I just got a call today on another job offer that would allow me to work remotely from home. I would love to work from home and be able to be around my family more but I feel obligated to stay in the company that I work for due to the fact that they are putting so much effort into my family right now. Any advice?

If the company you work for now takes good care of you , sit down and discuss the job offer with your boss maybe they can arrange some of those things the other job is offering. Give them a chance to keep you. If not, most employers understand everyone has to look out for their best interest.

If the people where you are, are doing this for you now, then I believe they will understand if you'd perfer to be home with your family. If they are doing a benefit for your son, then they will be happy for you.

I am not sure of your situation, but it is hard to find companies that still show sympathy and care, you should stick to them.
