Many young people have trouble concentrating. It can be due to many things. ADHD is certainly one, but other distractions and even health/diet can have an effect. Its probably worth talking to a school counselor or someone to help sort out what is interfering and see what you can do to improve the situation. Having said all that, some people just aren't as good at concentrating as others, you have to work with what you have.

I was kind of worried about my son and his schoolwork. he got in with a crowd of kids that hung around on the streets after school and I was afraid he was going to get in trouble. I didnt know what to tell him.

One day when he was about 13, he came home from school and went up to his room and cleaned it out. He took all his computer games and threw them in the trash, he put his TV in the closet, and he got rid of all the sports magazines and other junk he had lying around.
He started studying three hours a day - he would go to science club, debate club, whatever kind of club at school the serious kids were going to, then when he got home he would do serious study, then AFTER all his work was done he would fool around for an hour or so and then go to sleep.
He just DECIDED that he was going to not be a slob, a loser or a bum. Now he's 20 years old. He already finished college and is working on a PhD.

He did it, and you can do it. But you have to DECIDE what you want out of your life.

Tell your parents. Tell your teachers. Try some extracurricular activities like sports/exercise to help clear your head. Then, when you sit down to do your homework, you should be able to think more clearly. If there's still something bothering you, try to figure out what it is and tell your parents. Maybe they can help.
