well, I have a couple answers.
1) The movie was an entertaining movie that you greatly enjoyed. Seeing it again reproduces your enjoyment. (Star Wars, Princess Bride)
2) The movie is deep and philosophical and it struck you somehow. Watching it again might allow you to see things you didn't see before, or understand the philosophy in it. (The Passion)
3) The movie had a twist that you didn't see coming the first time around and you now want to see if you can catch all the clues you missed. (6th Sense)
4) It has an actor/actress that you like / think is hot / is a fantastic thespian, and you enjoy watching their performances. (Species and Natasha Henstrich. Heh)
5) It's considered a classic and you're trying to better understand the craft of film. (Citizen Kane)
6) The movie is so awfully bad that it's fun to sit with friends and make fun of. (Schwartzenegger in "Commando", Snakes on a Plane)
7) You enjoyed the movie/ the movie is wholesome / and want a good movie to take a date to. (Hoodwinked)
8) Your significant other likes the movie and wants you to watch it with them. (Mulan)
9) You wanted to make sure it was appropriate for your kids before you let them watch it. (Rocky III)
10) You only got to see part of it on TV and wanted to see the whole thing. (Lethal Weapon 4)
11) It's in your video collection and there's nothing new to watch. (Galaxy Quest, Batman Returns).
12) You forgot you've seen it before! (which has happened to me) - (Jaws, Flight of the Navigator)
I'm sure there are other reasons, but those are the best I can think up off hand. Hope that helps! Heh.

There are some movies that were not worth watching the First time around!!!!
But there are some movies that are worth watching many times - it might be the *feeling* I get from the movie - the *music* I love in the movie - or the action and the thrills and heck ya - sometimes there is just nothing else to do lol
Some movies are also Seasonal - Like I grew up with watching Its a Wonderful Life - and to have a Christmas to by and not watching and knowing what happens when a *Bell Rings* - well it just wouldn't be Christmas :-)

I can only watch the same movie twice if it's very exciting or there was so much going on, that I think I've missed something. I don't know why but if Pretty Woman is playing on TV I'll watch some of it...I've seen many times. I guess if you like a movie...watching it again might bring back good memories.

Seeing A Movie Twice When i stiil fresh is fine, for the resons posted from the guy ahead of me said but the question is why buy th movie. Movies that have been out or are old shouldnt be watched unless they are with friends or family. Other than that its a waist of time, even if it is your favorite or missed somthing. Chronicles of Narinia 23 x

Because they enjoy the movie. Some people view movies like art. Perhaps a better question in your case is why do people BUY movies? You would think most would watch them more than twice or it would be a waste of money.

The first time I enjoy it, the second time to see the things I didn't notice the first time and the third because I want to!
You tend to get attach a movie to and emotion or an specific moment in life.
I watch "Pinocchio" to sense again and remember what it felt being a kid again.
I'm so sorry you don't get that.

I have watched movies more than once. If you sit down and watch them over and over sure they would get boring, but every once in a while I like to watch Pulp Fiction.

Because they enjoyed it. I have several movies that I've watched so many times that I could recite every line as the movie plays. I just enjoy the hell out of it is all.
