Here are two easier examples on how to go about it: 60 ÷ speed x distance or distance ÷ speed x 60 In this case the better way to solve the problem is by using the latter. Here it is worked out. 7 ÷ 35 x 60 0.2 x 60 = 12 minutes However I do it slightly different and it is kind of confusing, but easier if you understand it. Here is what I do: 7 ÷ 35 x 60 (35 ÷ 7) x 60 (I "flip around" the 7 and the 35 to make it easier to divide) (5) x 60 2 x 60 (I "flip back around" the 5 by asking what time 5 equals 10, the answer is 2 because 2x5=10) =120 (But I still have to finish "flipping the 2. So I need to move the decimal one place to the left) =12.0 (That is the finished equation. The answer is 12 minutes.) I really hope I didn't jack you up. My brain works very weird with numbers. If you need me to expand anymore on my craziness just ask.

Speed equals distance divided by time, therefore time equals distance divided by speed, as for distance equals to speed times time.
This is basic Transposition.

s= d/t time=? distance=? also how would you find your distance? using your time and speed?

speed = distance/time
Multiply both sides by "time" to get:
speed*time = distance
Divide both sides by speed to get:
time = distance/speed.
Hopefully that helps!

if s=d/t, then t=(s)(d) and d=(s)(t)
translation.... if speed equals distance devided by time, then time equals speed times distance, and/or distance equals speed times time

exactly, you multiply distance per speed and you get time, like 120 Miles per hour multiplied by 2 hours and you get 240 miles!....
