how do we know if a number is even?

I know that if a number is even then whenever it is divided by 2, the results wont be a decimal number. But is there any other way to defini this?

A quicker way to define even numbers is to say that when the number is divided by two, the result is a whole number. Even numbers always end with 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8, and numbers ending with these digits are always even.

1/ Binary
=======
If you write an even number in Binary the rigth most digit will be a ZERO

Example: 12 in decimal -> 1100 in binary

2/ Equation
=========
For each even number X the is exactly on REAL Y so that 2*Y=X
(such number Y does not exists fore odd numbers)

3/ Writing it in decimal
================
If the last digit is 2,4,6,8,or 0 then the number is even otherwise it is odd

well actually thats pretty much it if it can be divide equally without being a decimal its even or like my teacher taught me each finger should have a partner

2 is prime and it is even.
