You cope by leaving this person and letting them deal with their problem. There's little chance that anything will ever change if you stay with them.

First thing is, if a person is trying to control you, then there is a serious problem in the making that can lead into massive problems later on, including verbal, mental and physical abuse. If you are thinking they are always right, you wouldnt be questioning if they were control freaks....that little voice inside you or those little alarm bells...that dread feeling...all signs of that there is a problem....GET HELP!

Have you ever told him that he has those types of issues? Its not nice just to dump someone after reading a couple of sentences I used to be controling my best friend(girlfriend) introduced me to anger management classes and she showed me allot of areas I needed to work on also! So dont submit but try to help and give yourself a timeline and a plan and if through a couple of months he doesnt change well its time to leave that person. People can change because I know I did: ) so good luck...

I was in a relationship like this. Notice the past tense. I left him. There is no way to cope with this behavior. It just gets worse, and creates more stress for you as time goes on.

You get out of the relationship NOW!!! Don't let him control you. People do that because of their insecurites and it can turn dangerous. Just get out!!!
