I grew up on re-runs of Looney Tunes, Mickey Mouse, and Looney Tunes cartoons as a kid. Unfortunately, major cartoon channels don't air them anymore (some are featured in DVD sets). Nickelodeon has this crap show called "The Fairly Oddparents" which makes me want to vomit (and I change the channel in protest).
The only really good cartoon I like that was made in the past 20 years is "The Simpsons." However, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Futurama, etc. just don't appeal to me.
Am I the only one like this or am I too old fashioned? When I have kids, I'm going to buy those DVD sets of old Disney and Looney Tunes cartoons and make my kids watch those instead of the proverbial crap on Disney, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network (actually, these three channels had good stuff until about ten years ago). If my parents and I grew up with the old stuff from Fritz Freleng and Chuck Jones, then my kids will be the same way.
The old-time cartoons seemed to be funnier, in my opinion.

No it is not just you. I am the same way. One of my favorites used to be Pink Panther. I found a DVD set in walmart the other day, with 5 DVD collector's set with 124 original cartoons plus a lot of extras, over 13 hours and covers 1964 - 1980.
I have a DVD recorder and if the P Panther is one of your favorites, If you want, I could burn you a set at no charge of course. One cartoon lover to another .
You are not old fashioned, you just have good taste and yes, you are right, the older cartoons were funnier.
One of my favorite sit Com's is Married with Children. I laugh till I can't breath. I get them on FX and have auto record for any that come on. I can't figure if the creators of the show are genius's or lunatics, but the stuff they come up with is brilliant and ultra funny.

A lot of the new stuff is crap. Bring back Johnny Quest, Space Ghost, Gigantor, Eighth Man, and the Archie Comedy Hour! Tarzan and the Super 7! Classic Flintstones! Speed Racer! Even Kimba, whom I despised, was more wholesome than odd parents and beaveis and butthead!

I completely agree. The stuff they pass off as cartoons today pale in comparison to those of the past. I have a younger sister and she watches all of those stupid cartoon network and nickolodeon shows that are pointless, they have stupid, basic plots and a lot of them are negative and violent. Most of the characters are complete brats and have horrid attitudes. They need to bring back classic disney and looney toons. Even tiny toons is better than the fairly oddparents (which makes me want to vomit as well) or that lame ed, edd, and eddy.

I hate the cartoons today. The only cartoons I watch are Mickey Mouse (still in black and white), Betty Boop, and Looney Tunes (especially ones featuring Marvin the Martian, Taz, and Gossamer).
Oh, and I almost forgot Clarabelle cow and Mighty Mouse.

I loved the Pink Panther, with his sidekicks The Inspector, The Ant and the Aardvark, and The Texas Toads. Those were my favorite. I also liked Woody Woodpecker! The smurfs were popular when my son was growing up, and they were good too. I stopped watching cartoons when Ren & Stimpy came out...nothing funny about body fluids in every scene.

Dude i'm 35 and that i verify them out each so oftentimes. it is noted as nestalgia, no longer something at incorrect with it. I maximum at present watched the previous lively version of Alice In Wonderland. That action picture cracked me up all over lower back.

id have to go w/ you... cartoons just arent what they used to be. i miss the giant mallot and the mousetraps from cartoons. i would have to say my favorite was the original scooby doo. a great cartoon.
and the only cartoon that really appeals to me that was created in the last ten years would be invader zim. i know they dont show it anymore on any channels i have. it has kinda turned into a goth cartoon, dont know why....just gotta say it was my favorite

I agree, most of the cartoons that are on now are just stupid or have really gross jokes. I miss Mighty Mouse.
I do really like Futurama and Family Guy, though. I have to disagree with you there.
