Well it's a generalisation, so it's a false premise. That said, actions usually speak louder than words because action changes the state of the world more than words. If someone insulted you on the street and you said "I am VERY angry at you, you shall not hear the end of this. I will be writing you a lengthy letter explaining in detail why you are an ignorant prick". Rawr." would it send the message you want to send? No. Breaking his nose on the other hand, would, in fact, speak louder than words. As a personal example, I have been saying to myself and everyone around me that I am going to study 24/7 this year since its my final year at university and it determines my classification. Just words. My procrastination (action) is the overriding cause of my failure. It's not so bad though, I study business and a lot of what we learn is a pile of ambiguous crap on paper which won't help me when I set my own business up...

If someone makes a committment to do something or go somewhere with you and they don't follow through or they say they would never do "that" and they do it then their words have meant nothing because they went against what they said and did something different. If your actions or what you do is different than what you say to others then your words have become meaningless and you will show you are no longer trustworthy.

Showing someone you love them is way more important than someone just saying they love you over and over and never doing anything to prove it. Actions speak louder than words!!!

Talk is cheap! Many of us have great ideas and intentions, but if all we ever did was sit around and think and chat about them NOTHING would ever get done! You need to be able to put your money where your mouth is and follow up on all of the great things you TALK about doing.

this means that what you do means more than what you say. for example, you say your gonna meet your friend at the mall. you say it, but let's say you don't go. actions mean more than words. another example, you tell your boyfriend you love him. that's what you say, but what if you buy him a gift to show that you love him? actions mean more than words!!

for example, you can easily say you love someone, but it won't really matter till you actually show that person that you love them by doing something wonderful. going to a certain extent.
