I think that the combination of a non-stick surface inside the bottle and an airtight container are the reason. We always talk about glue "drying", so keeping the air out must prevent that process from occurring.

That's a good question! I think it might have to do with because there's no oxygen in a glue bottle.

Here is something to think about along the same lines.
How do they manufacture pan coated with teflon - if teflon is supposed to be nonstick in the first place.?

since its not exposed to oxygen it cant dry out...thats why there is always so much in the containers so there is VERRYY lil air

with the lid on, no air can get to the glue.
It's the air that helps it to set
