THere is a simple formula to figure this out "is" / 'of' = % / 100

so the " is"=375; the "of" 1500 = x% /100

Cross multiply 1500 x *= 37500

Divide both sides by 100: ___15x=375
Divide both sides by 15.......x = 23
Tha answer is 23% of the income went to food

I will tell you how to solve it. It is a percentage problem. Set the part (375) over the whole (1500) and multiply the answer by 100. That will be the percentage. Sorry...don't have a calculator.

Do your own homework! Ok, this one time

($375 / $1500)*100 = 25%

That's a quarter of his income.

Divide the rent by the amount that he earns. Multiply your decimal answer by 100 to convert to a percent.

Good luck. Hope this helps.
