So I was referred to a position by an individual that a close friend of mine knows. She told me to create a cover letter and resume and to address it to x person. The position she mentioned is not posted on the website of the company. How should I mention in my cover letter of how I heard about the position? Should I put through my friends acquaintance? Also, should I assume that she recommended me to the position? Thanks for your help!! =)

You SHOULD certainly tell the Employer that you are informed by YOUR Friend!

You have now two options:
1. Your friend write a recommendation letter for you or
2. You write a refferal letter. Both are given below!
