If you think there is, you are wrong.

You either have to be literally dirt poor to recieve medicaid--and even then 'poor' single people w/o children do not apply.....
I KNOW. Because I was there. There is nothing for you when you get sick or have a disease in this country. nothing.

For people who think that Charity can pay thousands of dollars in hospital expenses and pick up the tab for hundreds of dollars worth of Rx per month you are WRONG.
Studies are limited, inaccessable, few and far between.
ONly now do some drug manufacturers offer drugs for those who can not afford their medication.
Believe me, this is a very recent thing...
I have been to the ER literally HUNDREDS Of times due to my illness. ALL uninsured and there was NO help for me though I and everyone else tried to find it.
You are alone and up poop creek without a paddle if you don't qualify for medicaid (MOST people, or else half of US wouldn't be uninsured) and you make too little to buy it

I have very good health insurance now.
I am one of the fortunate ones.

I was uninsured with a dibilitating disease for YEARS and was one of those who used the ER for treatment. -- not being on constant care from a docor and on presciptions could have killed me. But I couldn't afford it.
There is no help. The "working class" who feel privilaged to have health insurance should feel just that. I had no means to find or attain a job that provided healthcare, they don't make it easy. otherwise half of the nation accused of not "working" would have insurance.

There are free clinics. Are they able to help you? Perhaps you need to find a job that provide health benefits. Or pays for part of it. Unfortunately, this is the way most of us working class do it!

You are so wrong! I have a friend who pays no taxes, reports no income even tho he probably makes more than me,and he gets free health care at the hospital because they are not allowed to turn away so called indigent ppl. You must not be who you say you were or you were ignorant of what is out there. They all live off the taxes we pay and we will be paying even more when more ppl realize they can get free health care this way. Ppl should be made to pay something, in some way, and learn like I did that life is not a free ride on my back.

We had an experience similar to what you describe near where I live. A Man who recently changed jobs and had No Insurance. His daughter was run over by a Lawn mower and lost her foot. The Helicopter flight alone is over 12,000. Each prosthetic foot will cost 5,000. The girl is Three and will need a new one every year until she's at least 17. The community is coming together to Help by doing fund raiser's ect. But it's exactly as you said there just isn't enough there and the Bills Never stop.

here where i live we have free clinics based on income
the health dept is another although it can barely be called
health care its better than nothing
we also have a state wide program health choice that
is based on income but it is for kids only
other than that if you're in a fix just go to the county hospital
they have to help you and you can get by just paying a couple
of dollars every month....been there done that

You may be able to get private insurance if you win the lottery or something or if you're 20 and in perfect physical condition, otherwise you can pretty much forget it. Thank you Congress and the White House!!!
