I've been listening to classical since I was a kid. I find that when I listen during my commute it helps me stay calm. There are times when I would rather listen to a good Tchaikovsky or Bach, especially piano or violin concertos then anything else. I'll check out Dvorak's cello concerto.....Thanks!

i do, but do your research.
IQ is your intelligece quotient. basically, this is a measure of how smart you are. However, the truth is IQ tests are not accurate. As you grow older it may increase or decrease, because of many different reasons. i'll list some faults: (btw I have an IQ of 165)
1. The more you get exposed to the tests, the more you get used to them. They're basically puzzles. If you want to get into MENSA or something, all you have to do is practice, practice, practice and you could actually rig the test.
2. Most IQ tests do not have an equal variety of question. Meaning, one test may have lots of puzzles on words, however the other may have more on images. One person can do better on one test than the other. How accurate is the test then?
3. I've had an IQ of 165 since I was in grade 3. Since then, I've had some more tests and it's in the range of 135-170 so which one's correct?
4. I've listened to classical music in high school as I was part of a concert and jazz band. Did it raise my IQ? The answer is simply NO.
5. If IQ is the standard for intelligence, then why do the test results differ? A standard is a standard, there should be no deviations. The test results should all be consistent.

Define "classical", love. Beatles is "classical" now...Every time, every style has its own "classical" representatives. But you have a point, anyway, about Mozart and the beautiful symphonic music. Lots of people listen to classical music. May be you live in a very small parcel of the world, where only you listen classical music. What the rest of the people you know listen to?...You sound arrogant when you say "why are you PEOPLE missing whe bandwagon?"...That sounds like: I, the only brilliant person in the whole world, listen to classical music. You, idiots, the rest of the world, do not listen it". I do not care about the ten points, really...

Mozart doesn't raise your IQ. However it is proven that it can cure you from diseases, and makes you more productive. Bach and baroque music is good if you are studying. Read "The Mozart Effect".
I love classical music. Here are some of my favorite composers:
Stravinsky, Rossini, Bottesini, Mozart, Bach, Bizet.

Yep. I'm going to hear the Toronto Symphony tomorrow night. Saturday night, I'm going to the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (yes, I know it's Swing!), and on the 30th, I'm going to hear the Sault Symphony.
I also do a lot of classical music in string ensemble and church.

YES! Love it. It's the only real music anyway....most of that other stuff is noise! I like country also. (That keeps my IQ in check)
