7 dollars an hour, I am a babysitter, but you should ask for her rate first.

I'd say 15 an hour for the pair of them depending on their ages and characteristics. Are they difficult, is one or both of them an infant, is one or both of them rowdy?
Remember, you want her to do a good job and appreciate watching your children, she's basically a kid and money is a pretty good motivator.
I always had awesome BS gigs when I was a kid. I was flown to San Antonio to BS while the parents looked for a house. We stayed at the Embassy Suites and I had my very own room. I was only 12. They would pay me 20 bux an hour...that was more than 17 years ago.

My daycare provider charges $7 per child per hour (and $ 12 for 2 kids) when she looks after my kids.
But when she let's her 14 year old daughter babysit (on rare occasions and in her house with her mother around), she askes me to give her $7 for 2 kids as she is not a licenced/ qualified person (I think she means CPR training etc). I think that is very fair.
I live in the bay area, California.

I'm cheap. I have 3 kids & pay $5 per hour. It's easy work, under the table income & what does a kid need tons of money for.
Some people in my circle of friends & acquaintances allow their children to babysit for service hours (ie: free), so you can always ask people if they do that.

Ask her how much she charges. Smaller cities pay less than big cities like New York.
