It really depends on how often and for how long you use it.
I find that when your battery's just DEAD, it might take...1.5 hours? I don't really pay attention to that. But...I use mine nearly every day for about an hour and i charge mine once a week. iPod batteries usually go for 14 hours, BTW. But they don't last as long if you do a lot of stuff (e.g. backlight, scroll, games...)

It depends on how much you use it. I always find it nice to plug it into my car w/ a monster cable that way i can listen to all my music on the road and it charges it so i can use it wherever. The battery does die pretty quick if you use it alot.

doesn't it come with a manual. Probably charge for 24 hrs... usually, that's what new things need.
